Winding down...

Going into this trip, I never had an agenda, except for knowing that I would start in Barcelona and go to Lisbon afterwards. And then throw caution to the wind. It has been an amazing ride but there is finally an end in sight. I didn't really want to think about the day that I would have to return to reality, but now that it is upon me, I am excited to be going home. Don't get me wrong, it is still very bittersweet. I have met so many incredible people and seen so many beautiful things that it is hard to leave them behind. But I know that this won't be the last time.

I can't help but feel so damn lucky.

Off to London tomorrow, then Scotland before I hop the pond!

Croatia & Montenegro

Before this trip began, I really never thought I would make it to where I am now. Montenegro truly is amazing. The city of Kotor has to be one of the most beautiful places I have seen on my trip and Budva, while quite touristy, is charming as well. And tomorrow, I will head into Albania for the day! It is a great feeling to go to a place that I once stared at on the atlas or globe, thinking "hmm, I wonder what this place is like" and realizing it is no longer a dream, but reality!

Here are a few more pics from Croatia and some from Montenegro!

Taking the boat from Dubrovnik to Cavtat for dinner!

A sight I will never forget. The city is a Unesco world heritage site for a reason

That's it for now... Until next time!

Dubrovnik & Co.

Here are a few pics from Dubrovnik!

The Old City

A Croatian Sunset

The island of Lopud, Sanj Beach is on the righthand side of the picture. Was about an hour boat ride from Dubrovnik and a 30 minute walk from the port, but was well worth it!

Life's a beach!

That's about all for now!

A compilation of the pat week

I finally decided to end my sabbatical from my sabbatical and get up a post. Not that I haven't wanted to, but more of a product having too much fun. And really, spending a lot of time on the Internet while in Europe -- well, is just wrong.

So here are some pics from Germany, my day in Amsterdam, and Croatia!

Amsterdam

Rembrandt's front door, Amsterdam. After building up a huge amount of wealth, he preceded to blow all of his money, going bankrupt and having to sell off all possessions...and that was how the museum today knows exactly what his house was like in the 17th century!

The Amsterdam Museum

Near the Red light district

Yes, such a place does exist

Houseboats!! Yeeeeaah, uhh, my car doesn't exist, so we'll be takin da bus!

Really wish that I could have gone in...crazy long line and didn't have enough time unfortunately

Bikes and canals!! I really was blown away with how beautiful Amsterdam is... Was not expecting it!

Roland, he is the man in Bremen

A bicycle adventure into the German countryside! I miss "my" bike already...

Bremen's Main Square with the Rathaus on the left and Cathedral on the right

Sunset from dinner in Bremen

View from my balcony in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Yep, I'll take it.

Well I'm off to go explore the old city of Dubrovnik. If it is half as beautiful in the day as it is at night, then I am in for a treat.

That being said, as great as it is to see all these amazing sights, one thing continues to stick with me. It's more about the people in these places and that's what truly matters to me. So thank you Jane, Marina, Antonia and others who have made my travels through Germany so incredible! They are times that I'll never forget :)

Pics of the day 7/5/11

Oh, how I love writer's block. Unfortunately, it happens quite a bit for me. Good thing I'm blogging, huh?

Have been back in Bremen (was here three years ago with school) for a few days now and am really enjoying my time here, thanks to a few people :)

It is always fun to come back to a place you've visited to see what has changed and what is still the same.

Here are some pics from the last few days!

Town Hall, Hamburg (which is a pretty cool city, btw)

Worpswede, an old, German artist community with a lot of beautiful houses and countryside

Marina, one of my opponents today during a hotly contested round of putt putt.

And Jane. She won by five strokes. I'm chalking this one up to home-field advantage ;)

And finally...

Nice to see you again, my friend!! Ah, good memories!

Tschuss!!
